ź         Rockets operate on the principle that Isaac Newton stated in his third law of motion that “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.”  The rockets are thrust by the force of propulsion resulting from the ejection of high velocity matter.

ź         The United States military has used rockets for more than 100 years. Francis Scott Key coined the phrase “rocket’s red glare” in the national anthem after the British fired Congreve rockets against the United States in the War of 1812.  A “stickless” rocket was invented by William Hale of Britain in 1846.

ź         The Apollo craft which made many trips to the moon and back were rockets.
